Zepto
Zepto runs a network of dark stores in India that deliver groceries and household goods in about 10 minutes.
The Company
Zepto was founded in 2021 by Stanford dropouts Aadit Palicha and Kaivalya Vohra. It operates more than 1,100 dark stores and processed more than 640 million orders in fiscal 2026, with revenue of about $2.4 billion, up 104%, and a net loss of about $617 million.
Zepto was valued at $7 billion in October 2025. After filing for an IPO, it deferred the listing in August 2026 and was reported to be raising about ₹1,000 crore privately at a $4.5 billion valuation, with the IPO now targeted for early 2027.
Why It Matters
Zepto is a test of whether quick commerce can become profitable, and its valuation cut shows how public-market investors are pricing loss-making growth companies.
