Sierra
Sierra builds AI agents that answer customers, resolve issues and complete transactions on behalf of enterprises.
The Company
Sierra was co-founded in 2023 by Bret Taylor, a former Salesforce co-CEO and chair of OpenAI's board, and Clay Bavor, a former Google executive. It sells AI agents that handle customer conversations for large companies and is paid in part by outcomes such as resolved cases.
In May 2026 Sierra raised $950 million led by Tiger Global and GV at a post-money valuation above $15 billion. It reported about $150 million of annualized revenue in early 2026 and says more than 40% of the Fortune 50 are customers.
Why It Matters
Sierra is a leading test of whether AI agents can replace a large share of customer-service work, and of how much enterprises will pay for that.
