The Company
Replit was founded by Amjad Masad and started as an online coding environment. Its AI Agent now lets users build and deploy full applications by describing them, which has turned it into one of the leading vibe-coding platforms for both professionals and non-programmers.
In September 2025 Replit raised $400 million led by Georgian, with a16z, Coatue and Qatar Investment Authority participating, at a $9 billion valuation, three times the $3 billion it was valued at six months earlier. The company said it was on track for $1 billion in annual recurring revenue.
Why It Matters
Replit is a leading test of whether non-programmers will pay to build software with AI, and competes directly with Cursor, Lovable and the AI labs.
