The Company
Neuralink was co-founded in 2016 by Elon Musk and a group of scientists and engineers. It builds a small implant that records brain activity and a robot that places its thin electrode threads, with the first aim of letting people with paralysis control computers and phones.
In June 2025 Neuralink raised a $650 million Series E at a reported $9 billion pre-money valuation, to expand patient access to its device and develop new applications. It remains in clinical trials, with no approved commercial product.
