Consensys
Consensys develops Ethereum infrastructure and applications, including the MetaMask wallet, the Infura developer platform and the Linea network.
The Company
Consensys was founded in 2014 by Joseph Lubin, an Ethereum co-founder. Its best-known product is MetaMask, one of the most widely used crypto wallets, alongside Infura, which gives developers access to Ethereum, and the Linea network.
Consensys was last valued at $7 billion in its early 2022 Series D. It hired JPMorgan and Goldman Sachs for an IPO, but in May 2026 it was reported to have delayed plans until fall 2026 at the earliest because of weak crypto markets.
Why It Matters
Consensys is a direct way to gauge public-market appetite for Ethereum infrastructure, and an IPO would test how crypto software companies are valued.
