Clay
Clay combines customer data from many sources with AI agents that research prospects and run sales and marketing campaigns.
The Company
Clay was founded in 2017 by Kareem Amin and Nicolae Rusan. It lets sales and marketing teams pull together data on prospects from many providers and use AI agents to research accounts, spot buying signals and automate outreach.
In September 2026 Clay raised $115 million led by Wellington at a $7.1 billion valuation, more than double its $3.1 billion Series C. It says it has more than 17,000 customers, including Anthropic, Google, OpenAI and Stripe, and 80% of the Forbes AI 50.
Why It Matters
Clay is a leading example of AI reshaping sales software, and a read-through for pressure on incumbents such as Salesforce and ZoomInfo.
