Applied Intuition
Applied Intuition develops vehicle intelligence software, including autonomy stacks, development toolchains and a vehicle operating system, for cars, trucks, defense and industrial vehicles.
The Company
Founded in 2017 by Qasar Younis and Peter Ludwig, Applied Intuition started with simulation software that helps carmakers test self-driving systems. It has since expanded into full autonomy stacks, developer toolchains and a vehicle operating system, and sells into automotive, trucking, defense and industrial markets.
In June 2025 the company raised a $600 million Series F at a $15 billion valuation, led by BlackRock-managed funds and Kleiner Perkins. It says 18 of the top 20 global automakers and major U.S. Department of Defense programs use its products, with partners including Porsche, Audi, Isuzu and TRATON.
Why It Matters
Applied Intuition is a rare large-scale software supplier to both carmakers and the military, and a read-through for how quickly autonomy moves from research into production vehicles and defense systems.
